Participation in the CWJC program allows students to improve life and work skills through courses ranging from Bible study to computer classes. In each of the free 10 to 12 week sessions students are given a firm foundation on which to build a successful life and career. Students are paired with a mentor before the classes are completed, thus beginning the mentor phase. In this phase, the student and mentor commit to a six month relationship designed to aid in providing direction to the student’s spiritual and career goals.
Descriptions of Core Classes:
- Bible Study ~ teaches students how to apply biblical knowledge to everyday living. The Bible studies are based on biblical doctrine not denomination.
- Career ~ explores career options to help students prepare for, obtain and maintain employment.
Computer Skills ~ teaches beginning level skills in typing, Microsoft® Windows®, Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, email and the internet. Students complete a letter, resume and other projects.
- Money Matters ~ teaches the foundations of money and finance management including budgeting, savings, tithing, and credit.
